This comes two days after Broos took swipe at Mamelodi Sundowns for trying to sabotage Bafana Bafana by allowing Kutumela to vaccinate in the middle of the camp.

There were concerns that Kutumela might have to withdraw from the Bafana Bafana squad but Broos confirmed the presence of the Sundowns attacker in the camp.

Broos said the only time he would have considered withdrawing Kutumela from the squad was if he had shown symptoms after taking the vaccine.

Consequently, Kutumela has traveled with the rest of his Bafana Bafana teammates to Ethiopia, and will remain in camp for the return leg.

“Kutumela is still here. So, I didn’t withdraw him,” Broos told the Bafana Bafana media team.

“I think that I said very clearly that because he was vaccinated. The risk was there that could have symptoms after that,” said Broos.

“So, the two following days after the vaccination are crucial; you can have symptoms like fever, like cough… flu symptoms. Therefore, I was a little bit anxious,” he admitted.

“It could have happened but Kutumela stayed with us on Monday. He wasn’t withdrawn and today (Thursday), we can say that this risk is gone. There is no risk anymore that he could have symptoms,” continued Broos.
