On-line trainer ETU to create 100 new jobs

Irish on-line training business ETU plans to create an extra 100 jobs here and in the US over the next 14 months.

The company said that it has recently recruited new customers, including technology giant IBM and consultants, McKinsey, while growing its business with existing clients, accountants PWC and EY, and US utility Pacific Gas & Electric.

ETU plans to hire people to fill new jobs in developing technology that uses machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Chief operations officer, Dr Declan Dagger, said ETU would aid customers in “preparing for the global skills shortage they face and maximising return on their talent”.

The company is also restructuring its senior executives’ responsibilities to prepare for the expansion.

Chief executive, Michael Veale said the move would better position ETU to serve its growing list of customers.
