ONE of Kaizer Chiefs’ ‘Big 4’ goalkeepers on his way out of Naturena?



Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi is reportedly being monitored by more than one Middle East club who could make a move for him in the coming months.

The 35-year-old Nigerian international was sidelined towards the end of last season after suffering a concussion and since his recovery has struggled for regular game time.

However, he did return in goal for Amakhosi four matches ago and played in last weekend’s vital 2-1 victory over SuperSport United.

The Glamour Boys have four quality goalkeepers to choose from in Itumeleng Khune, Bruce Bvuma, Brandon Petersen and Akpeyi.

However, both Khune and Akpeyi are fast nearing the end of their careers at age 35.

Akpeyi’s contract at Naturena ends at the end of June 2022.

According to the All Nigeria Soccer website, Kaizer Chiefs have not had discussions with Akpeyi regarding the renewal of his contract.
