American actress Sandra Bullock is making a bold return to the big screen in a new Netflix movie titled The Unforgivable. The movie is Bullock’s first since the 2018 post-apocalyptic horror Bird Box.
SANDRA BULLOCK IN ‘THE UNFORGIVABLE’
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Unforgivable is an adaptation of Sally Wainwright’s 2009 series Unforgiven.
Sandra Bullock plays Ruth Slater, a woman who has just been released from prison after serving a 20-year sentence for a violent crime. Ruth is struggling to re-enter society and is attempting to reach her estranged sister.
The movie was directed by German director Nora Fingscheidt and co-written Peter Craig, Hillary Seitz and Courtenay Miles.
BULLOCK UNPACKS HER CHARACTER
Bullock who is also a producer on The Unforgivable, unpacked her character Ruth in-depth, noting that there are several people whose lives have been affected by the crime Ruth committed.
“She wants to find this one person, the only family she had when she went in, and you keep asking yourself, ‘Why can’t you let it go? This family member was traumatized by your actions – let it go! Stop harming these people all over again,’” she told Entertainment Weekly.
The 57-year-old actress noted that The Unforgivable is a murder mystery within a very complex character drama.
The movie also stars Oscar award-winning actress Viola Davis, Jon Bernthal, Emma Nelson, Aisling Franciosi, Vincent D’Onofrio and Richard Thomas.
The Unforgivable will be released in theatres on 20 November in the United States and will be available on Netflix from 10 December.
