Nando’s hosted a heated conversation titled The Burning Platform: OneSA vs The DA between — radio personality Gareth Cliff, one of South Africa’s national spokeswoman Mudzuli Rakhivhane and federal leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA) John Steenhuisen.

The conversation was meant to see the panelists discuss their thoughts on coalitions, the upcoming elections and their stance on racial issues in South Africa. However, Cliff and Rakhivhane got into an argument over whether service delivery is a smaller issue than race baiting. Cliff then said her Rakhivhane’s “personal experiences” are “anecdotal and unimportant”.

“Your personal experiences are completely anecdotal and unimportant to all of us, sorry,” said Cliff to Rakhivhane.

“Thank you! I appreciate the fact that you think the experiences of a black woman in this country is unimportant and irrelevant,” she continued.

“Mudzuli I am not interested in identity politics at all, nobody really is. They are only interested in themselves, what they can get out of this,” he added.
